Aerial View of Mt Adams / Mt St Helens and Map
Hello Mt Adams!
Our spacious campsite
After setting up camp, we walk toward the lake and saw an Osprey with fish flying by.
This was a good sign that fishing was going to be great this year!
Some photos of sunrise, afternoon, sunset and stars over Mt Adams.
Last year, we got the full moon over Mt Adams right at Sunset.
My wife, Iryn, last year caught her first fish ever here. All the trout she caught were around 12"
This year, she caught a lot more and two were were big at 18 & 20 inches! Iryn was one happy camper!
Me? I had to do all the hard work, like rowing. I enjoyed every minute of it.
Peaceful Fishing!
Hard to find a lake anymore that don't have high power boats zooming around!
We had a quite a show from the Ospreys while there. A real bonus.
Fish every night for dinner! And marshmellows with chocolates... yum!
Got some nice shots of Mt Adams when we went down to Trout Lake on Monday.
Tuesday, We hiked around Council Lake, which I do not recommend as the south half of lake is
dangerous with steep inclines, cliffs with no maintained trail.
NOTE: After the hike I saw on the campground bulletin board the same warning as I said above!
I slipped and fell and a small branch I grabbed kept me from dropping 100ft into the lake below!
I credit my wife to probably saving my life as she is like a mountain goat and got to my side instantly
and kept me from sliding farther then helped me back up. This was on other side of lake in these photos.
Wednesday, we hiked the Council Bluff Trail which at the top showed several mountain ranges & Council Lake.
One word for this hike: AWESOME!!!
Some things we saw along the Council Lake Hike, yes, we fed the chipmonks some of our peanuts.
Thursday we went to Tak Tak Meadows and a pretty falls near Takhlakh Lake.
This was our big planned hike for this year but it was closed this year due
to damage on one of the creeks bridges halfway up. Council Bluff Trail made up for it!
Only saw one Bald Eagle once this time and he was too far away for a picture.
But the Osprey pair kept up a good show all week and that made up for it.
Friday morning we went fishing one last time before heading home, caught 3 more!
We had some company with an Osprey checking us out and some ducks!
Some pics of Mt Adams seen from Mt St Helens when we went there October 15th.
Now for the sad part, leaving Paradise for home.
Goodbye until next year...
UPDATE: Two more months till we're there again!
This time we're coming in a bigger trailer and truck! Should be fun!
